Vitamin E capsules from Pharma Nord contribute to the protection of body cell constituents from oxidative stress. A major fat-soluble antioxidant, vitamin E protects cell membranes from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are toxic chemicals, generated within the body as unwanted by-products of normal metabolism. In addition, environmental pollutants can generate free radicals.
Vitamin E Deficiency
The best dietary sources of vitamin E are foods that happen to have a high fat content (such as nuts and avocados). Individuals who are on low fat diets may obtain their vitamin E requirement via dietary supplements.
Ageing, smoking and drinking alcohol are all factors in reducing levels of vitamin E. Diets containing a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids may result in deficient vitamin E absorption.
What is the best form of vitamin E to take?
Vitamin E (natural or synthetic) can occur in different chemical forms (principally alpha-, beta-, delta- and gamma tocopherols), which have different biological activity; the most effective form of vitamin E utilized by the human body is d-alpha-tocopherol.
