Breakfast Foods

Whether you've got ten minutes or ten seconds, a good breakfast should fit your morning — not fight it. Our Breakfast Foods range covers everything from slow-cooked porridge to grab-and-go bars, with plant-based milk options to match.

Choosing your format

  • Cereals & Muesli — best for customers who want variety and a quick bowl-and-milk routine; naturally higher in mixed textures and often includes nuts, seeds or dried fruit.
  • Porridge & Oats — a good option if you're after sustained energy through the morning; oats are a source of fibre, and can be prepared hot or overnight.
  • Breakfast Bars & Bakes — suited to mornings on the move; look at the protein and fibre content on the pack if you want something more filling than a standard cereal bar.
  • Plant-Based Milks — for dairy-free households or anyone switching up their usual pour; oat, almond, soya and coconut all bring a different taste and texture to cereal or porridge.

If you're deciding between a quick cereal, a heartier porridge, or something portable for the commute, our FAQs below cover the practical differences to help you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions

The main difference comes down to how they're made. Muesli is typically raw or lightly toasted oats mixed with dried fruit, nuts and seeds, and tends to be lower in added sugar and fat since nothing's been baked with oil or syrup. Granola is oven-baked, usually with added oil and a sweetener, which gives it a crunchier texture and generally higher calorie and sugar content per serving. Neither is inherently "better" — it depends what you're after. If you're watching sugar intake, muesli is usually the lighter option; if you want something with more crunch and don't mind the extra calories, granola delivers on texture. Always check the nutritional panel per 100g and per serving on the specific product, since this varies significantly between brands — some granolas are formulated to be lower sugar, and some mueslis have more added dried fruit than you'd expect. If in doubt, the ingredients list order is a quick way to judge: sugar or syrup listed early means a sweeter product regardless of the muesli/granola label.

There's a genuine basis to this. Oats used in porridge are a source of fibre, and cooking them (rather than eating them dry with cold milk as in most cereals) tends to increase perceived fullness for many people, partly due to the water content and slower eating pace involved. That said, "filling" is subjective and depends on portion size, what you add to it, and your own appetite patterns — we can't claim porridge suppresses appetite or aids weight management, since that would go beyond what's actually established. If you're choosing porridge specifically to feel fuller for longer, consider added toppings like nut butter or seeds for extra substance, and check whether you're buying plain rolled oats versus a flavoured instant sachet, since the latter often contains added sugar that changes the nutritional picture significantly.

This comes down to taste and texture more than nutrition in most cases. Oat milk has a naturally creamy texture that holds up well in hot porridge and complements most cereals without an overpowering flavour. Almond milk is lighter and slightly nutty, working well with granola or muesli but can taste thin in porridge. Soya milk has the highest protein content of the common plant milks, useful if you're trying to boost protein at breakfast, and its neutral taste suits most cereals. Coconut milk brings a distinct flavour that pairs better with tropical-style granola than with plain oats. If you're switching from dairy for the first time, oat or soya are usually the easiest transition since they're closest in body and mouthfeel to cow's milk.

If time is the main constraint, breakfast bars are the most portable, but check the label carefully: some are closer to a confectionery bar with a "breakfast" label than a genuinely balanced option. Look for higher fibre and protein content, and lower added sugar if you want something more substantial than a snack. Overnight oats (using porridge oats prepared the night before) are a middle ground — no morning prep, but more filling than most bars. A quick bowl of muesli with plant-based milk is also genuinely fast if you have two minutes at home rather than needing something to eat on the move. There's no single "best" answer here — it depends whether you're eating at home quickly or eating on the go entirely, so match the format to where you'll actually be eating it rather than defaulting to whatever's fastest to buy.

Some are, but this collection isn't filtered by dietary requirement by default, so always check the individual product page. Oats themselves are naturally gluten-free, but many standard porridge oats are processed in facilities that also handle wheat, so cross-contamination risk exists unless a product is specifically labelled gluten-free certified. Our plant-based milks are dairy-free by definition, but some cereals and granolas contain dairy in the form of milk powder or honey-based coatings, so check the allergen statement rather than assuming. For a filtered view, our Free From collection specifically curates products suitable for gluten-free, dairy-free and other dietary needs, and is a more reliable starting point if you're shopping around a specific requirement rather than browsing this general collection.

Let’s Hear What Our Customers Have To Say

Product and price are both 5 star. Courier awful. Tracking less than useless but seriously, these items are fabulous. And this was definitely the best price I’ve seen. I’ll put up with the longer delivery time. It’s not the seller’s fault at all. I’m telling all my T2D friends about these. The only crisp type snack...

Good quality product, higher dha/epa than others, being in a foiled pouch helps keep fresh and doesn't allow light to oxidise as fast as clear packaging. Recommended.
