Dried Fruit, Nuts & Seeds

Our Dried Fruit, Nuts & Seeds range covers everyday snacking staples and cooking ingredients — from almonds and cashews through to chia, flaxseed, dates and dried mango. Whether you're stocking up for snacking, baking or adding to porridge, you'll find raw, roasted and mixed options.

Shop by Type

  • Dried fruit — dates, apricots, mango, raisins and more, with and without added sugar
  • Nuts — almonds, cashews, walnuts, Brazils and more, available raw or roasted, salted or unsalted
  • Seeds — chia, flax, hemp, pumpkin and sunflower, whole or ground
  • Mixed — trail mixes and blends combining fruit, nuts and seeds in one bag

What to Check Before You Buy

  • Raw vs roasted nuts — roasting changes flavour and texture, not the basic nutritional profile
  • Added sugar — some dried fruit is coated in sugar or oil to prevent clumping; check the label if you want fruit only
  • Sulphites — some dried fruit, particularly apricots, contains sulphur dioxide as a preservative, worth checking if you're sensitive
  • Whole vs ground seeds — flaxseed is often recommended ground, since the whole seed can pass through the body largely undigested

Wondering whether raw or roasted suits you better, or what sulphites actually are? Our FAQs below cover it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Raw and roasted nuts start from the same product, but the roasting process changes a few practical things worth knowing before you choose.

Raw nuts are unheated, keeping a softer texture and a milder, less intense flavour.

Roasted nuts are heated (dry-roasted or oil-roasted), which deepens the flavour and gives a crunchier texture — this is why roasted nuts are often preferred for snacking on their own.

A few practical differences:

  • Dry-roasted nuts have no added oil, while oil-roasted nuts are cooked in oil, which affects the fat content slightly and can make them feel richer
  • Roasting can slightly reduce moisture content, which is why roasted nuts often feel lighter or crisper than raw
  • Raw nuts are generally preferred for baking and cooking, since they won't already be seasoned or salted

If you're adding nuts to a recipe, raw is usually the more neutral starting point. If you're snacking straight from the bag, roasted tends to be more satisfying in terms of flavour and crunch.

This comes down to how the fruit has been dried and preserved, not the variety of apricot itself.

Bright orange dried apricots have typically been treated with sulphur dioxide (sulphites), a preservative that keeps the fruit's colour and extends shelf life. This is standard practice and safe for most people, but worth knowing if you have a sulphite sensitivity, since it can trigger a reaction in a small number of people.

Dark brown dried apricots are usually the unsulphured version — the natural colour the fruit turns without that preservative. They tend to have a slightly chewier texture and a more concentrated, less tart flavour.

If sulphites are a concern for you, check the ingredients list for "sulphur dioxide" or "sulphites" rather than judging by colour alone, since processing methods vary between suppliers. Otherwise, the choice mostly comes down to preference — the sulphured version is often described as tangier, the unsulphured as richer and sweeter.

Both are the same seed, but the answer depends on why you're eating them.

Whole flaxseed has a hard outer shell that can pass through the digestive system largely intact, meaning you may not get the full benefit of what's inside.

Ground flaxseed (sometimes called flaxseed meal) breaks that shell open, making it easier for your body to access what's inside.

Practical guidance:

  • If you're adding flaxseed to porridge, smoothies or baking specifically for its nutritional content, ground is generally the better choice
  • If you're using flaxseed mainly for texture — a bit of crunch in granola or bread — whole works fine
  • Ground flaxseed has a shorter shelf life than whole, since grinding exposes more surface area to air; buying whole and grinding small amounts as needed keeps it fresher for longer

If you're not sure which you need, ground flaxseed is the safer general-purpose choice for most everyday uses.

It depends on how much you're eating and what else is in your diet, rather than being an automatic problem.

A few practical things worth considering:

  • Salt content varies significantly between brands and nut types — checking the label rather than assuming all salted nuts are similar is worthwhile if you're monitoring intake
  • Portion size matters — a small handful is a very different amount of salt to eating straight from a large bag
  • Unsalted or lightly salted versions are widely available if you'd rather control the seasoning yourself
  • Salted nuts aren't inherently "unhealthy" compared to unsalted — the nut itself is the same, salt is simply an added seasoning

If you eat nuts daily as a regular snack, choosing unsalted or lightly salted versions most of the time — and saving heavily salted options for occasional snacking — is a reasonable, practical approach.

Buying a mixed bag versus building your own combination both have genuine advantages, depending on what you're after.

Mixed bags (trail mixes, fruit-and-nut blends) are convenient — one bag covers variety without buying five separate products — and make a practical grab-and-go snack.

Buying separately gives you more control:

  • You can adjust the ratio to suit your taste, rather than accepting whatever proportion the mix comes in
  • You avoid ingredients you don't want — some mixes include chocolate pieces, yoghurt coatings or added sugar that changes the overall balance
  • You can buy larger quantities of just the items you use most, which is often better value

If convenience matters most, a mixed bag is the simpler choice. If you're particular about ratios or want to avoid specific added ingredients like chocolate coating, buying separately and combining your own mix gives you full control over what goes in.

Product and price are both 5 star. Courier awful. Tracking less than useless but seriously, these items are fabulous. And this was definitely the best price I’ve seen. I’ll put up with the longer delivery time. It’s not the seller’s fault at all. I’m telling all my T2D friends about these. The only crisp type snack...

value for money, so tired of throwing fresh berries in food bin due to their condition. These are organic, freeze dried nearly 100% as good as fresh berries, and more importantly none will be thrown away. once opened will last 2 months.

Good quality product, higher dha/epa than others, being in a foiled pouch helps keep fresh and doesn't allow light to oxidise as fast as clear packaging. Recommended.
