AlterEco Organic Dark & Milk Chocolate Bars

Q: What's the difference between the 70% and 85% dark chocolate bars?

The percentage refers to cocoa content: the 70% Ecuador bar has a slightly milder, more balanced dark chocolate flavour, while the 85% Peru bar is more intense and less sweet, with a higher proportion of cocoa relative to sugar. If you're new to darker chocolate, starting with the 70% bar is usually a gentler introduction before moving to 85% if you prefer a stronger cocoa flavour. Both are single-origin bars (Ecuador and Peru respectively), so the beans themselves also differ slightly in flavour profile beyond just the percentage.

Are all AlterEco bars organic and fair trade?

Yes, organic and fair trade certification runs across the AlterEco range we stock, covering both the dark and milk chocolate bars.

What flavoured bars does AlterEco offer beyond plain dark chocolate?

The range includes dark chocolate with almond, dark chocolate with orange, and milk chocolate in plain and salted caramel varieties, alongside the plain 70% and 85% dark bars.

Are AlterEco bars gluten-free?

The dark chocolate with almond bar is noted as gluten-free; check individual pack labelling for full allergen details across the rest of the range.

How should chocolate bars be stored?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours, since chocolate can absorb smells and is sensitive to heat.

Let’s Hear What Our Customers Have To Say

Product and price are both 5 star. Courier awful. Tracking less than useless but seriously, these items are fabulous. And this was definitely the best price I’ve seen. I’ll put up with the longer delivery time. It’s not the seller’s fault at all. I’m telling all my T2D friends about these. The only crisp type snack...

Good quality product, higher dha/epa than others, being in a foiled pouch helps keep fresh and doesn't allow light to oxidise as fast as clear packaging. Recommended.
