Balqees

Balqees makes raw Greek honey, including distinct regional varieties (Fir Forest and Sidr) alongside flavoured fusions blending honey with black seed or cinnamon.

What we stock:

  • Raw Greek Fir - Forest Honey and Raw Greek Sidr Honey (250g and 400g)

Frequently Asked Questions

These are two distinct raw Greek honey varieties, each named after the source the bees primarily forage from: Fir Forest honey comes from fir tree forests, giving it a characteristic dark, rich profile typical of forest honeys, while Sidr honey is a well-known variety with its own distinct flavour and colour.

Both are sold plain, in 250g and 400g jars, so beyond the source and resulting flavour difference, they're used the same way -- stirred into tea, spread on toast, or eaten from the spoon.

If you haven't tried either before, it's worth comparing them directly since forest and Sidr honeys can differ noticeably in taste and colour from more familiar clear honey.

Balqees blends its raw honey with an added ingredient in two fusion products: Black Seed, and Cinnamon -- both sold in 250g and 400g jars, giving a different flavour and combination compared to the plain Fir Forest or Sidr honey.

It's marketed as raw honey across the range, meaning it hasn't been heat-processed in the way some mass-market honey is -- check the jar for full details on how it's prepared.

Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, with the lid sealed tightly between uses. Honey doesn't need refrigeration and has a long shelf life if stored properly.

As with any honey, it's not suitable for children under 12 months old due to a small risk of infant botulism. Check with a health visitor or GP if you have questions about honey and young children.

Let’s Hear What Our Customers Have To Say

Product and price are both 5 star. Courier awful. Tracking less than useless but seriously, these items are fabulous. And this was definitely the best price I’ve seen. I’ll put up with the longer delivery time. It’s not the seller’s fault at all. I’m telling all my T2D friends about these. The only crisp type snack...

Good quality product, higher dha/epa than others, being in a foiled pouch helps keep fresh and doesn't allow light to oxidise as fast as clear packaging. Recommended.
