Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the three quinoa grain varieties?

Biofair's plain quinoa grain comes in three forms: the standard Organic Quinoa, the Organic F/T Red Quinoa (a red variety, freeze-thawed), and Tri-Colore Quinoa Grain (a mix of quinoa colours in one pack) -- all 500g.

Beyond colour and variety, they're used the same way in cooking -- as a rice substitute, in salads, or as a side dish -- so the choice comes down to whether you want a single colour or the visual and slight textural variety of the tri-colore mix.

If you want to try quinoa pasta rather than the grain itself, Biofair's Fusilli and Spaghetti (both rice quinoa blends, fair trade, 250g) are a separate product from the plain grain.

Is Biofair's pasta gluten-free?

Being made from rice and quinoa rather than wheat, this pasta is generally gluten-free -- check the specific pack's allergen statement to confirm for your dietary needs.

What does "fair trade" mean for these products?

Fair trade certification means the product meets specific standards around fair pricing and conditions for the producers who grow the quinoa -- look for the fair trade labelling on the Fusilli and Spaghetti pasta specifically.

How do I cook Biofair quinoa?

Follow the cooking instructions on the pack, since quinoa is typically rinsed and simmered in water similar to rice, though ratios and timing can differ slightly by variety.

How should quinoa and quinoa pasta be stored?

Store unopened packs in a cool, dry place, and once opened, reseal and use within a reasonable time to keep freshness.

Let’s Hear What Our Customers Have To Say

Product and price are both 5 star. Courier awful. Tracking less than useless but seriously, these items are fabulous. And this was definitely the best price I’ve seen. I’ll put up with the longer delivery time. It’s not the seller’s fault at all. I’m telling all my T2D friends about these. The only crisp type snack...

Good quality product, higher dha/epa than others, being in a foiled pouch helps keep fresh and doesn't allow light to oxidise as fast as clear packaging. Recommended.
